How do I get Married at First Lutheran Church?
At First Lutheran we are committed to the good news of God’s grace in Jesus Christ that changes lives now and forever. We believe that a committed Christian marriage is a place where that grace can be lived out.
We want you to have a beautiful wedding, but even more, we want you to have a beautiful marriage. We’ve laid out a series of four expectations for couples planning to be married at FLC. We believe that these steps will be a valuable part of planning your wedding and growing together as a married couple in Christ:
Stop by the church to pick up a wedding packet, fill out the necessary reservation forms, and pay the reservation fee.
- Complete the Prepare premarital relationship inventory and attend the 1.5-hour feedback session with your pastor or trained counselor.
- Complete a series of pre-marriage counseling sessions with one of our pastors at First Lutheran Church. These sessions are designed to help you connect with God and with each other as you discuss the spiritual, emotional, and practical issues of your lives together. Your pastor will help you determine the kind of preparation that best suits your situation.
- Finalize the details of your wedding with the pastor and pay in full the appropriate fees.
Again, we love Christian weddings and take yours very seriously. We count it a privilege to be involved in your lives at this wonderful time. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
