We believe that we have been saved by Jesus Christ and are children of God. Living in a relationship with our Lord, in unity with brothers and sisters in Christ, and as members of First Lutheran Church, commit to these Core Values.
God's Word
The Bible is God's Word. We study it daily and accept it as God’s guide and standard for our personal lives and our life in the body of Christ.
Worship
Worship is our every moment opportunity to respond to God's love for us. We worship Him by striving to honor and respect Him in everything we say and do. We gather weekly to worship with the congregation of First Lutheran Church.
Witness
We acknowledge honestly and openly that Jesus Christ is the Lord of our lives. We are convinced it is God's desire for everyone to live in relationship with Him. He gives us His spirit and calls us to be witnesses to the world. As we daily seek to demonstrate the fruits of the Spirit in our lives, we share Christ's love through our actions and words to all people and invite them into a loving, lasting relationship with Jesus Christ.
Prayer
God invites us in Jesus' name to come to Him in prayer constantly and in everything. Therefore, we pray in all things to acknowledge God, to learn from Him, and request His will for lives. It is also our responsibility to intercede for others and their needs.
Unity
Jesus calls us to live in unity with our brothers and sisters in Christ. To answer His call, we protect the unity of our church: by acting in love toward other members by refusing to gossip and thereby valuing unity like Christ does.
Giving
Merciful Father, we offer with joy and thanksgiving what You have first given us - our selves, our time, and our possessions, signs of Your gracious love. Receive them for the sake of Him who offered Himself for us, Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
Grace
Unmerited, undeserved second chances are intrinsic to the heart of our Father God and readily available for all His children.
Transformation
It is expected in the lives of all covenant ministers and all who claim First as their church home.
